Hello! Just dropping by to share some random translations out of the Chronicle book. Where 'random' means Guild/Dio related things since as much as I'd love to do more I'm not good at this sort of thing. And have biases.
You can see the stuff here, if it interests you! And hopefully maybe one day there'll be translations for the other stuff out of all of these artbooks (THERE ARE TOO MANY OF THEM AUGH). I'm just, yes I love info like this so figured I'd share it in case anyone else likes that sort of thing too!

. . . No, really, I swear this is relevant.
I'm probably the last person in the world to figure this out, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover in my reading that "Prester" is actually an ancient word that refers to a type of storm. After a few minutes' worth of internet research (most of which was spent modifying my search terms so I get results other than a bunch of articles on a historical king named "Prester John") I found that the phrase generally means "fiery whirlwind" and was used to refer to tornadoes, waterspouts and hurricanes.
Being a tremendous geek, my immediate thought was, of course: Grand Stream much?
If you're curious, the relevant bit from Lucretius (a delightful Roman fellow who made an earnest attempt to scientifically explain the natural world, got a lot of stuff wrong, but in the process correctly theorized about things like atoms, density, conservation of energy and the relative speeds of light and sound) goes:
Sometimes, the whirl of wind
Is wrapped in cloud, or scrapes off particles
Of cloud from air, and imitates on land
These so-called 'presters'. Then we get a squall
Of terrible force . . . it occurs most often
Across the open ocean's wide expanse.
. . . You know, I love it when stuff I like turns out to be secretly smart about things. I didn't have much of a point other than that, but I thought you might find it interesting. I'll return you to your regularly scheduled and actually topical programming, now.

Because of Fam, the silver wing I re watched my last exile boxset (which was the worst thing I could ever do. It's better to watch the new series without comparing them the whole time which is exactly what I'm doing right now..)
But that is not why I posted this. I also noticed that I still only had 4 figures (out of 7) from the grandstream trading figure set. So I was actually looking up where I could buy the missing pieces and discovered that in the mean time they got really expensive!
The one I own are: Alex, Claus, Lavie, Dio and I still need: the vanship, tatiana, alvis

I didn't buy them back then because I got Claus three times and had run out of money and I didn't dare to try the blind boxes again so I thought I would wait till someone would sell them second hand but unfortunately I waited a bit too long...
So I was wondering if one of you would now someone who got these three pieces up for sale for a reasonable price?

First the question! :V
Is there any interest in the comm for perhaps a (even small) friending meme? Totally not asking this because I need more friends who are crazy about the series who would appreciate endless Plurk rambling and jokes as well as dumb shoops, nope. If there is I can toss up a small thing to fill out to hop around with.
